Compound Machine

Construct a compound simple machine that lifts a 500 g mass at least 3 inches vertically. The machine must contain at least 4 simple machines.

This project enhanced my ability to collaborate effectively with a team. It also taught the importance of improvisation — when our mechanical nuts kept coming loose and destabilizing the entire machine, we switched to a different nut type that fastened the system.

We built our compound machine with too high an IMA. Reducing the number of pulleys would have brought the IMA closer to spec and made the machine more efficient.
